Julia is a Founder Partner of Collington Capital, a non-executive member of the Investment Committee of the Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office, a Trustee of the global education charity, the Education Development Trust, and a Forestry Commissioner.
Julia is a highly experienced non-executive Director and Chief Executive of leading social impact investment organisations, with a track record of developing and implementing successful business and investment strategies in UK, global and emerging market contexts.
Julia is the former Chief Executive of Pro Bono Economics, Impetus the Private Equity Foundation, the National Gardens Scheme and Surrey Community Action. Previously Julia was a member of the Advisory Board of Big Society Capital, the G8 2013 Task Force on Impact Investment and the Impact Investment Committee of the British Venture Capital Association.
On graduating, Julia joined Barclays International Bank before moving on to become a consultant with AT Kearney, Deloitte and PwC. Later Julia worked in rural Zambia with women’s groups on health, financial planning and business start-ups. Julia read PPE at St Hilda’s College, Oxford and was later awarded an MBA by the London Business School.
Julia has worked on the business side of the social sector, leading and transforming smaller charitable organisations to develop sustainable income streams. She has extensive expertise in fundraising and building key partnerships.
In addition, Julia’s wider experience of supporting promising social programmes to scale and increase their impact, has led her to have a clear appreciation of the challenges impact-led enterprises face in understanding and accessing capital markets.
Julia has more than 15 years experience in helping non-profit organisations to scale and increase their impact. She is excited by the opportunity to deploy that experience and help increase the footprint of impact investment to tackle global issues related to social justice and sustainability.
