Deborah is a Senior Adviser at Collington Capital. Previously Deborah was Vice President of Investor Engagement and Research at Accion’s Center for Financial Inclusion (CFI). From CFI’s inception in 2008, Deborah was instrumental in strengthening the inclusive finance ecosystem. She established and continues to direct the Financial Inclusion Equity Council, uniting private equity investors in financial institutions across developing markets and led CFI’s impact investing research.
Deborah is Director Emerita of Root Capital, a social lender to smallholder agriculture and a board member of Vista Ventures Social Impact Fund, the financial institution FINCA Uganda and the Columbian ag tech Incluirtec.
Earlier in her career, Deborah held leadership roles at Accion, where she managed a $9 million guarantee fund, advanced financial transparency in microfinance, and developed training programs for microfinance institutions. She has also served as a banking specialist at the World Bank.
Deborah graduated magna cum laude, with a BS Foreign Service in Latin American studies from Georgetown University. She was later awarded an MBA from Babson College. Deborah completed the Accion Program in Strategic Leadership in Inclusive Finance at Harvard Business School. Deborah speaks fluent Spanish and Portuguese.
